Text:

It is spring
The unconquerable sun returns
This time, the equinox
with light and dark in parallel
we celebrate proportion

What is best in us?
What did our wisest ancestors want for us?
Fighting amongst the men and women,
fighting amongst the tribes…
Or balance?

A season of metamorphosis
as the cold barren winter transforms into verdant summer
We celebrate the sagacity of nature’s cycles.

What is best in us?
What did our wisest ancestors want for us?
Misusing the earth
Destroying its bounty…
Or harmony?

This season of spring
possibility blooms, a thrill of promise–
signs of rabbits and painted eggs
launch a celebration of fertility’s gifts

What is best in us?
What did our wisest ancestors want for us?
Shrinking back?
Fearing to dare and create?
Or abundance and regeneration?

Graceful and radiant springtide
nudges gently to remind us
of our place in both time and eternity.
We celebrate life itself
and our lives as people
and a people

What is best in us?
What did our wisest ancestors want for us?
Forgetting?
Bowing out?
Or soaring
to our next sunrise?
